VOV.VN - Two subsequent earthquakes were recorded in Kon Plong district in the Central Highland province of Kon Tum on May 9 morning.
The magnitude 3.4 quake occurred at 9:20 a.m. (local time) at a depth of approximately 8.1 km, according to the Centre for Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning under the Institute of Geophysics.
Earlier on the same day a minor quake measuring 3 on the Richter scale jolted the district at 5:18 a.m. The quake shook the area at a depth of around 8.1km and fortunately caused no casualties.
None of these minor earthquakes posed a risk of natural disaster to the locality, said the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre, adding that it is continuing to monitor aftershocks.
