Truck crashes into convenience store, killing six in central Vietnam
VOV.VN - A tragic accident occurred in central Nghe An province when a truck carrying bundles of lá dong, a type of traditional leaf used in Vietnamese Lunar New Year celebrations, crashed into a convenience store, claiming six lives.
The accident took place at around 5PM on January 12, leaving a community in shock and mourning. The truck, which was loaded with bundles of lá dong intended for Tet celebrations, lost control and rammed into the store beside National Highway 543D in Tham Hin village of Nam Can commune.
At the time of the accident, there were at least 6 people inside the store. The impact led to the death of all 6 individuals - 4 children and 2 adults.
The accident resulted in 6 fatalities from 4 families in the commune, revealed Lau Ba Xenh, an official of Nam Can commune.
Upon receiving the news, local police and relevant authorities arrived at the scene to investigate the cause. The truck driver has been temporarily detained for investigation.
Authorities offered condolences and assistance to initial financial support to the victims’ families.
