Tropical depression to strike Vietnam’s central coast

VOV.VN - A tropical depression is situated in Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago, around 450km east of the central province of Quang Binh and Da Nang City, the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting announced on October 9.

The strongest wind power near the tropical low pressure’s centre is at 40-60km per hour. In the next 12 hours, it will be moving west at a speed of 35km per hour and is expected to make landfall in some central localities on the afternoon and evening of October 9.

Due to the impact of the tropical depression, the northern coast of East Sea, including Hoang Sa (Paracel Archipelago) will see heavy rains, strong winds, and rough seas while downpours will hit coastal provinces from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen.
