Tropical depression to cause heavy rain in northern and central regions

VOV.VN - A tropical convergence zone is forecast to form a low-pressure area from July 13 to July 14, which may strengthen into a tropical depression and directly impact the northern and central regions of the East Sea, according to details given by the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

Hoang Phuc Lam, deputy director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, emphasised that the weather pattern is anticipated to affect the waters of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago, the Gulf of Tonkin, and the central region.

Furthermore, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall occurring on a large scale from July 14 to July 16 in the north and central regions.

Forecasters said there will be showers and strong thunderstorms from July 12 to July 13 in the central and southern East Sea, including the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and coastal areas from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang, and the Gulf of Thailand with high sea waves of between 1.5 metres and 2.5 metres.

Strong winds and high sea waves are forecast to continue occurring in these areas over the coming days.
