Transnational drug trafficking ring smashed in northern Vietnam

VOV.VN -The police of northern Tuyen Quang province have dismantled a transnational drug trafficking ring from Thailand to Vietnam, detaining seven individuals and seizing over 153 kg of marijuana and two litres of marijuana oil.

The police said they on March 12 caught red-handed two local residents illegally trading drugs, confiscating 113.26 grams of marijuana.

At the police station, the suspects admitted had ordered marijuana from Thailand via social networks and had subsequently transported them to Vietnam for consumption.

By expanding the investigation, the police discovered that the case was just a branch of a major drug ring, with the mastermind being foreign nationals.

They later cooperated with relevant agencies to arrest more suspects and seized over 153 kg of marijuana and two litres of marijuana oil.

The police are continuing their investigation and are pursuing further legal action against those involved.
