The suspect was identified as Nguyen Van Ba, 31, residing in Quynh Giang commune of Quynh Luu district.
According to initial information following the arrest, on October 25 the police discovered a shipment of milk from Europe arriving at Noi Bai International Airport, suspecting that it contained drugs. The shipment was then transported from the airport to Quynh Luu district.
Upon closer examination, the police caught Ba red-handed as he was receiving the shipment at an office of a transport company in Cau Giat town. Upon noticing the police, the suspect fiercely resisted and attempted to escape but failed.
At the scene, 9.3 kg of ketamine hidden in 16 milk cartons were found. Searching his residence, local authorities discovered an additional 600 pills of synthetic drugs.
