Train-truck collision paralyzes North-South railway
VOV.VN - On March 1, the Duc Lien Commune People's Committee in Vu Quang District, Ha Tinh province, reported a train-truck collision at Hoa Duyet Station in Lien Hoa village, causing the train to derail and damaging several meters of track.
According to initial reports, at around 8:30 a.m, a truck was crossing a local level crossing in Duc Lien commune. Upon reaching the railroad tracks at Lien Hoa village, the truck encountered a mechanical failure. The driver quickly exited the cabin. At that moment, a cargo train, SH62, traveling from south to north, collided with the truck.
The impact severely damaged the truck's front, splitting its body in two. Three carriages of the train derailed, and several meters of track were displaced. The train driver got minor injuries, while North-South rail traffic was paralyzed.
Railway authorities and relevant agencies are currently at the scene, working to repair the damage.
