Times Higher Education honours Vietnamese institutions
VOV.VN - An additional two subject groups of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) have been listed among the World University Rankings by Subjects 2024, which was released on October 26 by the Times Higher Education (THE).
The subject rankings cover fields such as arts and humanities; business and economics; clinical and health; computer science; education; engineering; law; life sciences; physical sciences; psychology; and social sciences.
VNU’s two new subject groups - clinical and health, and education - were evaluated by THE for the first time, recording the global rankings of 401 to 500 for education and 601 to 800 for clinical and health.
The latest recognition has raised the VNU’s number of subject groups in the ranking to eight out of 11 subject groups.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 spans 1,904 universities across 108 countries and regions globally.
The table is based on the new WUR 3.0 methodology, which includes 18 carefully calibrated performance indicators which measure an institution’s performance across five areas - teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook.
This year’s ranking analysed more than 134 million citations across 16.5 million research publications, plus survey responses from 68,402 scholars globally. Overall, a total of 411,789 datapoints from more than 2,673 institutions that submitted data were collected.
