Thua Thien-Hue embarks on smart city development with Korean firm
VOV.VN - The People’s Committee of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue province has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding co-operation in smart city development with the Korea Land & Housing Corp.
Nguyen Van Phuong, chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and Nguyen Dai Vui, director of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment, represented the Vietnamese locality during the recent online signing ceremony. Representing the Korean firm was Kim Hyun-jun, general director of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation.
Under the MoU, both sides are planning to establish greater co-operation in developing strategy and policy, master planning, along with smart city development, with a primary focus on conducting research on urban development and the Chan May – Lang Co economic zone. This will be along with other urban work which will be managed by the provincial People's Committee, with the aim of turning the locality into a typical Vietnamese smart city.
Following the signing ceremony, webinars and meetings were held to discuss and share necessary information in order to prepare plans and strategies to apply these models and projects related to smart city development. These will take place to devise plans for how to both organise and implement this development in Thua Thien-Hue province.
They will also co-operate in promoting projects relating to a communication smart urban area in An Van Duong new urban area, two industrial parks in the Chan May - Lang Co economic zone, and a pilot smart urban area in the Vietnamese locality, whilst also working together on research and development projects.
