Three died in Bangkok apartment building fire

A fire broke out at an apartment building on Phetchaburi road in Bangkok’s Ratchathewi district on April 3, killing at least 3 people and injuring over 60 others.

Two out of the three died victims were identified to be Thai nationals, reported the Bangkok Post newspaper.

The third one was thought to be a Vietnamese.

According to Pham Quang Hoa, a Vietnamese witness, there are at least 18 Vietnamese people living in the building, and nine of them are being hospitalised due to suffocation.

However, he was unable to say whether there was a Vietnamese among the dead victims.

The fire happened at about 2am in an electric wiring duct on the fifth floor of the 14-storey building.
