Three dead and two missing in Kon Tum scaffolding collapse
VOV.VN - Three workers have died and two have gone missing following a scaffolding collapse at the construction site of the Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum Province on December 31.
When the labour accident occurred at around 3a.m., the workers were pouring concrete for the dam, according to local authorities.
Five workers fell from a great height and were buried under debris.
Immediately after the incident, rescue teams were deployed to search for the unfortunate workers.
By noon on the same day, rescue workers had recovered three bodies from debris. They were searching for the remaining two missing workers.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the authorities.
The Dak Mi 1 Hydropower Plant is part of the Dak Mi hydropower complex in Kon Tum province, which contributes to the power supply for the central region of the country.
In addition to energy generation, the project is expected to contribute to regional development by improving infrastructure, creating jobs, and fostering industrial operations in Kon Tum province.
