TET holiday brings new meaning for troops on Spratly Islands

VOV.VN - The sailors stationed on the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands have begun to decorate their work and living areas and everything is beginning to take on a festive, homelike atmosphere.

Vietnamese Navy sailors decorate a peach tree and hang other decorations in preparation for the upcoming TET (Lunar New Year) holiday that falls on Monday February 8, 2017.

The New Lunar Year dawns on February 8, 2017 and traditional fun and games are being organized across the Spratly Islands to celebrate the occasion.


Sailors and Truong Sa (Spratly) islanders make traditional Banh Chung rice cakes as part of the TET (Lunar New Year) festivities.

It’s an activity that all personnel in the chain of command are eager to take part in.
