Tay Ninh uncovers drug smuggling

Police in the southern province of Tay Ninh have recently discovered and seized 15.8 kg of synthetic drugs being smuggled near the local Xa Mat international border gate.

Receiving reports on a truck suspected of carrying drugs, customs officers were ready and waiting to check the vehicle when it arrived at the border gate on July 3.

Their search found 98 black plastic bags filled with synthetic drugs. The bags were hidden inside printing ink and camera boxes.

The container where the drug was discovered was transported from China and bound for Cambodia via Vietnam.

Local officers involved in the drug case have received bonuses from the local authorities for their effective operation.
