Tay Ninh reburies remains of martyrs repatriated from Cambodia

VOV.VN - A solemn memorial service and burial ceremony for 56 sets of remains of revolutionary Vietnamese martyrs repatriated from Cambodia was held on January 13 at Hill 82 Tan Bien Martyrs’ Cemetery in Tay Ninh province.

Vo Duc Trong, vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Tay Ninh, noted that millions of soldiers had sacrificed their lives to safeguard the national border and accomplish international missions.

Their sacrifice will be forever remembered, he said, going on to express his great gratitude to the families of the martyrs.

In the first stage of the 2022 - 2023 dry season, the K70 and K71 teams searched, gathered, and repatriated the remains of 56 martyrs who had sacrificed their lives on the Cambodian battlefield.

The Hill 82 Tan Bien Martyrs’ Cemetery is currently the resting place for nearly 14,000 martyrs who gave their lives in the resistance war against United States and in the international mission in Cambodia.

Over recent years, the Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee, authorities, and people have paid close attention to the search and reburial of martyrs’ remains.
