Tay Ninh reburies martyrs' remains repatriated from Cambodia

VOV.VN - The People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of southern Tay Ninh province held a memorial and burial ceremony at Martyrs’ Cemetery Hill 82 on February 2 for the remains of 125 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who had laid down their lives during international missions in Cambodia.

Accordingly, the remains had been excavated and collected during the 2023 - 2024 dry season in Cambodia.

At the ceremony, Vo Duc Trong, vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Tay Ninh, noted that millions of Vietnamese soldiers had sacrificed their lives to safeguard the nation’s border and accomplish international missions.

Their sacrifice will forever be remembered, he said.

The Hill 82 Tan Bien Martyrs’ Cemetery is currently the resting place for nearly 14,000 martyrs who gave their lives during the resistance war against American imperialism, and international missions in Cambodia.
