Tan Son Nhat Airport serves 146,300 passengers on fourth Tet holiday
VOV.VN - Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City welcomed more than 146,300 passengers on February 1, the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, with 945 flights including 472 departures and 473 arrivals.
Figures show that the airport handled 146 international departures and 144 international arrivals.
As the country's largest and busiest airport, Tan Son Nhat also welcomed close to 25,000 international passengers departing and 24,859 arriving.
It is expected that the airport will see a high volume of flights on February 2, the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, as many people return to Ho Chi Minh City after Tet.
During the peak period from January 14 to February 12, Tan Son Nhat is anticipated to handle more tha 26,000 flights with approximately four million passengers.
With nine days off work starting from January 25, Tet drives a surge in travel as people return home for family reunions and then head back to major cities.
