Swedish Ambassador receives Friendship Insignia

VOV.VN - Sweden’s Ambassador to Vietnam Camilla Mellander was honoured on July 15 by the Vietnam government with the award of the state-level insignia for friendship, in recognition of her work to nurture relations between the two nation’s peoples and governments.

The award is the highest commendation given by the Vietnam government to foreign experts for their contributions and dedication to the nation’s social development and economic, scientific, technological, educational, and cultural construction.

In making the presentation, Vu Xuan Hong, chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations thanked the Ambassador for her hard work in promoting cooperation and friendship.

In accepting the award, the outgoing Ambassador expressed her deepest appreciation for not only the people of Vietnam but for having the opportunity to serve in the country during an exciting period in the nation’s history.

She vowed to continue to make whatever contributions she could to enhancing friendship relations between the two countries in the coming time in her new capacity in the Swedish government.
