Suspected body of final missing victim found in Ha Long Bay deadly boat tragedy
VOV.VN - After a week of relentless efforts, search and rescue workers have discovered a body believed to be the final missing male victim from the tourist boat capsizing incident that occurred in Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh province, on July 19.

The body was found drifting in the Hang Trong area of Conservation Centre 2 under the Ha Long Bay management board at around 2:30 p.m. on July 26, said Nham Quang Van, captain of search and rescue team 116.
Upon receiving the information, the authorities quickly mobilised forces and vehicles to the scene in an attempt to verify the victim.
According to Van, on July 26, the team mobilised 14 canoes with the aim of finding the last missing victim Hoang Van Thai who was born in 1985.
Earlier, at around 3 p.m. on July 25, search and rescue workers then found a female body in the Cua Dua area close to near Titop island in Ha Long Bay. The DNA test results later confirmed that the female body was Hoang Thi Quyen, born in 1975, one of the last two victims of the tragedy.
The tragic accident occurred at approximately 12:55 p.m. on July 19, when the Wonder Sea vessel carrying 46 tourists and 3 crew members was struck by a sudden thunderstorm in Ha Long Bay. Around 1:30 p.m. the boat capsized and lost GPS contact. While some passengers managed to escape, many remained trapped in cabins or engine compartments.
So far, search and rescue teams have saved 10 individuals, recovered 38 confirmed bodies, and are in the process of verifying the identity of the recently found body, believed to be Hoang Van Thai.
