Students register for high school graduation exam nationwide

VOV.VN - Students nationwide began registration for the 2025 National High School Graduation Examination on April 21 for the academic year 2024–2025, according to the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).

The registration process is being conducted online via the MOET’s official examination management system https://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn/. Students are required to carefully fill out personal information, select exam subjects, and confirm their intended use of exam results for university entrance purposes, if applicable.

According to the MOET, registration will remain open until 17:00 on April 28. Candidates are urged to double-check their information before final submission to avoid any errors that may affect their results or admissions opportunities.

Recently, the MOET approved the plan for organising the High School Graduation Examination and the recognition of high school graduation starting from 2025.

Accordingly, candidates will be required to take two compulsory subjects -  Literature and Mathematics, along with two elective subjects chosen from those taught in Grade 12. The list of elective subjects includes a Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Informatics, and Technology.

Among these, the Literature exam will be in written (essay) format, while the other subjects will be tested in multiple-choice format.

The exam will be held nationwide with a standardised test schedule, using the same exam papers, at the same time, following the official timeline set by the MOET.

This exam format will be implemented starting in 2025. During the period from 2025 to 2030, the exams will continue to be conducted on paper.

After 2030, the MOET plans to gradually pilot computer-based testing for multiple-choice subjects in localities that meet the necessary infrastructure and technical requirements. During the transition, a combination of paper-based and computer-based testing may be used.

Once all provinces and cities nationwide meet the required conditions, the High School Graduation Exam will be fully transitioned to computer-based testing for multiple-choice subjects.

The exam marks an important milestone in the academic journey of 12th-grade students, as its results will not only determine graduation eligibility but also serve as a basis for university and college admissions.
