Streets of Hanoi suffer blockages following period of heavy rain

VOV.VN - A heavy downpour that hit Hanoi on the morning of August 21 caused severe traffic congestion on many streets across the capital.

The torrential rain that hit Hanoi this morning left several of the capital city’s main streets submerged in water.
Despite extensive rainfall, flooding around the capital was not serious.
Workers from the Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Co. Ltd. arrive at areas hit by flooding to clear floodwater and put up signs warning commuters of the danger.
As a result of the deluge, serious traffic jams clog many of Hanoi’s streets throughout the morning.
Many vehicles are unable to move as a result of the severe congestion.
Long lines of vehicles and motorcycles cause heavy congestion on main roads throughout the city, including Nguyen Trai, Tay Son, Ton Duc Thang, Xa Dan, and Kim Lien.
Many vehicles on major streets in the capital are forced to move at a snail's pace.
