Storm No7 headed for central region

(VOV) -At 4am on October 4, the eye of the storm was at 15.2 north latitude and 117.3 east longitude, with gusted winds of 89-102km/h.

The National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) forecast that in the next 24 hours, the storm would move west and south-west at the speed of 5-10km/h and would be stronger.

By 4am on October 5, it would be 400km from the Hoang Sa archipelago.

The centre said in the eastern part of the East Sea, there would be rough seas and strong winds.
The National Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control (NSCFSPC) and Committee for Search and Rescue (CSR) have asked relevant agencies to closely follow the fast movement of the storm.

Its telegram says the storm might cause heavy rain on a large scale.

The central region currently has more than 6,000 reservoirs and dams. Local forces are on duty round the clock and ready to evacuate local people from danger areas which are likely to hit by flash floods or landslides.

To cope with the storm, the central provinces keep regularly contact with the owners of more than 28,000 vessels and fishing boats operating at seas and make plans to deal with emergencies, including guiding them to safe shelter.
