Special Tet programme brings Vietnamese citizens home for Tet

VOV.VN - A special flight carrying a total of 196 Vietnamese citizens working and studying in Japan landed safely at Noi Bai International Airport on December 29 after departing from Haneda Airport.

The flight was put on within the framework of “Bring Tet Home” programme that offers 360 domestic air tickets, 196 international air tickets, and 3,600 bus tickets to workers and students nationwide. This scheme has been launched in order to help Vietnamese citizens return home for family reunions during the upcoming Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet.

This year, the organising board of the event also supports 50% of the cost of air tickets for Vietnamese labourers and students to return to Japan.

Upon addressing the welcoming ceremony, Cu Duc Quan, a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) and representative of the organizing board, noted that the event, which is the first time of its kind, will create opportunities for needy Vietnamese citizens to return to home.

This will therefore allow them to enjoy Tet alongside their family, as well as welcoming in 2023 with hope and joy.

Quan added that it will also help to strengthen relations between Vietnam and Japan as part of the occasion of the 50th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
