Sleeper bus burns down to frame, 27 passengers narrowly escape
VOV.VN - Some 27 passengers have escaped death by a hair’s breadth after a fire gutted their car down to its frame in Lam Dong province, according to local police.
The incident happened at around 10.30 p.m on July 9 when the 36-seater sleeper bus was travelling on National Highway 1 traversing Hong Son commune, Lam Dong province. There were 27 passengers on the vehicle.
When the bus reached 1672km section on National Highway 1, flames erupted from the luggage compartment and then quickly spread throughout the entire vehicle.
Residents nearby assisted the bus crew in extinguishing the fire but their attempts failed. Fortunately, all the 27 passengers managed to escape the bus before it was completely destroyed by the fire.
Relevant forces launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.
