Seven fishermen rescued from sunken fishing vessel in Vung Tau

VOV.VN - Police in Ward 11 of Vung Tau City reported on March 24 that they had coordinated with relevant agencies and local residents to successfully rescue seven fishermen from a sunken fishing vessel in the waters off Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.




According to initial reports from the scene, at 5:20 p.m. on March 23, local police received an SOS call from residents who had spotted a partially submerged fishing boat about 300 meters offshore.

Upon being notified, local authorities immediately dispatched a rescue team and mobilized nearby residents to use basket boats to reach the distressed vessel and rescue the crew.

By 7 p.m. the same day, all seven crew members had been safely brought ashore. They are currently in stable condition.

According to the police, the incident was caused by rough seas with high waves and strong winds.
