Security tightened around Melia hotel ahead of DPRK Chairman’s arrival

VOV.VN - Police forces stationed around the Melia hotel have been strengthened with reporters and residents being managed by steel barriers to ensure security near the venue where DPRK Chairman Kim Jong-un will stay for the duration of his visit to Vietnam.

Security around the Melia hotel area is tight for the visit of the DPRK leader. DPRK Chairman Kim Jong-un will stay in the hotel as he pays an official friendship visit to Vietnam where he is due to attend the DPRK-USA Summit.
A number of police units are mobilised to ensure security at the Melia hotel area.
The front of the Melia hotel in Ly Thuong Kiet street is blockaded with all vehicles banned from travelling in the area.
 
Curious local residents stand along the road hoping to get a glimpse of DPRK Chairman Kim Jong-un’s motorcade.
The DPRK leader’s motorcade is expected to pass through Trang Tien, Ngo Quyen, and Ly Thuong Kiet streets.
