Saigon Railway offers express TET service

VOV.VN - There is something special about trains that evoke nostalgia around TET.  It could be the stirring of childhood memories or simply the wistfulness of coming home for the holidays, arms filled with TET packages for family and friends.

On January 23, Saigon Railway JSC makes the ride even more special by beginning express service from Ho Chi Minh City to Quang Ngai Province for passengers heading home for TET.

Railroad official checks tickets as passengers board the new express train.

Passengers (above) say they are impressed with the luxurious and modern facilities.

A train employee helps young man with his two children get situated. Dao Anh Tuan, general director of the Saigon Railway says he hopes that passengers are happy with the new service.

A woman and young girl cart bag loads of TET holiday gifts for family and friends back home, to the top of a double decker cabin.

Sleeper carriage is extra comfortable and includes Wi-Fi.

Train steward helps passengers load their luggage with TET holiday gifts into overhead compartments.

Family members stretch out in the new roomy compartments. Ticket prices remain unchanged with the new train service.

Doors open and close with just the touch of a button.

Saigon Railway purchased in total 30 new carriages at a total cost of about US$140,000.
