Russia, Vietnam bolster auditing cooperation
(VOV) - A Vietnamese delegation led by Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam Nguyen Huu Van has just concluded a working visit to Russia, which aimed to enhance cooperation among the agencies, particularly in compliance auditing of contracts and agreements.
At a meeting on November 18 with Tatyana Golikova, chair of the Audit Chamber, Russia’s independent state budgetary watchdog agency, Van told his host that Vietnam is hopeful of learning from Russia’s practical experience.
Vietnam is particularly interested in better understanding the most effective measures to ensure businesses operating in industrial sectors are complying with the law and international trade agreements, Han said.
For her part, Golikova affirmed that effective enforcement of laws and international trade agreements play a fundamentally crucial role in enhancing trade and investment between the two nations, for mutual benefit.
They also discussed jointly performing an audit of the Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant in Vietnam and several joint ventures such as Vietsovpetro and Rusvietpetro in early 2015
Both sides expressed their willingness to expand cooperative relations in training auditing officials and reached an agreement on retraining Vietnamese officials. In addition, leaders from the Russia State Audit Agency also proposed organizing training courses on finance and state audit for Vietnamese students at Russia’s universities.
Both leaders said they would support each other at forums of regional and international auditing bodies and signed a new bilateral cooperative agreement pertaining to common activities of their auditing agencies.
