RoK to welcome over 12,000 local workers

VOV.VN - The Republic of Korea (RoK) plans to employ more than 12,000 Vietnamese workers this year, under the terms of the Employment Permit System (EPS).

According to details given by the Centre of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, among the labourers, a total of 6,344 will work in the manufacturing industry, while the others will be employed in the construction, agricultural, and fishery sectors.

According to the schedule moving forward, Vietnamese applicants are expected to take several tests from May 8 to May 26. The Centre will receive dossiers from March 20 to March 24, with the test results being published on the centre’s website at www.colab.gov.vn.

Employees who cheat during the test will have their results canceled and will not be allowed to join EPS programme for four years.

Previously, the EPS programme had been implemented since 2004 with the aim of realising the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on supplying and receiving Vietnamese workers to the RoK between the two governments.

Last year witnessed the country send nearly 9,000 workers to the RoK under the EPS programme out of a figure of 70,000 set for 16 selected nations.
