RoK firms fund vocational training for disadvantaged youths

A workshop designed to provide vocational training on welding and pipe installation was  opened at the College of Urban Works Construction in Gia Lam district of Hanoi on January 18.

The workshop forms part of a project providing vocational training for disadvantaged youths, which is funded by the Plan International, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Hyundai Motor Company and Hyundai E&C.
With total fund of VND12 billion (US$530,000), the project has upgraded and supplied equipment for the workshop, helping learners to practise with modern machines and satisfy the labour requirements.
Under the project, the college adjusted its curriculum while updating the learners with new knowledge on modern technologies and offering more practical lessons.
It has also set up linkages with enterprises to create employment opportunities for the trainees after graduation.
The project is expected to offer training to 200 disadvantaged youths nationwide each year.
