Road accidents kill 13 on first day of Tet break

VOV.VN - During the first day of the national Lunar New Year holiday (Tet), a total of 26 traffic accidents occurred nationwide, killing 13 and injuring 15 others, according to the Ministry of Public Security’s Traffic Police Department.

This marks a reduction of five traffic accidents, one death, and five injuries compared to the corresponding day of the previous Tet holiday, the Ministry stated.

The department also noted that the national traffic police force found more than 6,705 traffic violations, seizing 101 cars and 4,642 motorcycles, and revoking 1,930 driving licenses.

Vietnamese people are celebrating their traditional Tet holiday with nine days off work, starting on January 29.
