Resolution 57: Science communication expanded on digital platforms

Efforts to expand science communication on digital platforms are being stepped up to implement the Politburo's Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, which aims to create breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

Specifically, the Ministry of Science and Technology has launched a Facebook page “Thong tin Khoa hoc va Cong nghe” (Information about Science and Technology), designed as a supplementary communication channel alongside its official fanpage. The initiative aims to expand access to verified information about science and technology in the digital environment.

The page shares inspiring stories from the scientific community while honouring scientists, organisations and individuals who have made notable contributions to the development of science and technology in Vietnam. It also updates readers on emerging technological trends and introduces innovative models and initiatives applying science and technology in practice.

Through accessible and engaging content, the platform seeks to raise public awareness of the importance of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in socio-economic development. It also encourages creativity and promotes broader participation by organisations and individuals in research and technology application.

In addition to providing information, the page is designed as an interactive space where citizens, businesses and members of the scientific community can share ideas, initiatives and feedback on science and technology issues.

The move comes as Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem continues to develop. The country currently operates 22 technology exchanges, including 19 local exchanges, two regional ones and one managed by the ministry.

However, the commercialisation rate of intellectual property in Vietnam remains around 0.1%, far below the global average of about 5%. Expanding digital science communication channels is therefore expected to help spread knowledge, strengthen links between scientists and businesses, and gradually bring the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW into practice.
