VOV.VN - Over 210 Vietnamese citizens in Japan, including pregnant women, the elderly, minors under 18, people suffering from dangerous diseases, and other extremely difficult cases flew home aboard a VietJet Air flight on November 29.

The flight carrying the citizens was arranged by Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, budget airline VietJet Air, in coordination with competent agencies of the host nation.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan sent staff to the airport to assist the passengers with boarding procedures ahead of their departure.

VietJet Air strictly implemented security, safety, and epidemiological measures during the flights to ensure the passengers’ health and prevent the possible spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

As soon as the plane touched down at Can Tho International Airport, southern Vietnam, all crew members and passengers underwent medical supervision and were transferred to quarantine facilities in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.

Vietnamese agencies are set to conduct similar repatriation flights in the near future to bring home Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas according to their wishes as well as the epidemic situation and local quarantine capacity.
