Remains of fallen Vietnamese soldiers repatriated from Cambodia
VOV.VN - A total of 41 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives during the wars in Cambodia arrived home on January 10, with the welcoming ceremony held at the Hoa Lu international border gate in Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc province.
The search mission, carried out by the K72 team of the Binh Phuoc Military Command, took place in the Cambodian provinces of Kratie and Kampong Thom and lasted 64 days.
During the mission, the team collected the remains of 41 martyrs and successfully obtained nine biological samples for DNA testing.
Additionally, several personal belongings of the fallen soldiers were discovered, including wallets, buttons, toothbrushes, combs, nail clippers, and belts.
Binh Phuoc will organize a memorial service and burial for the remains at the provincial martyrs' cemetery.
