RedOne to launch scholarship for autistic children in Vietnam

Producer and songwriter RedOne will visit Ho Chi Minh City on August 28 as one of the main sponsors for a local music scholarship program dedicated to children with autism.

The Moroccan-Swedish music executive, who was behind the huge success of Lady Gaga's debut album, wants to raise the awareness on how music could help autistic kids improve their skills and create a better life.

The Trinh Cong Son Music Scholarship has been named after the late talented songwriter.

Other supporters include Son's family and singer Thanh Bui.

At an event to launch the program on August 28, organizers will grant the first scholarships, with a total value of US$100,000, to five children who have selected to join a two-year music course in Ho Chi Minh City.

RedOne has worked with many high profile recording artists in the US.

He has been nominated for six Grammy awards and won three. In 2009, he was the number one producer on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
