Red Cross offers emergency aid to flood victims
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Red Cross Society (VNRC) Central Committee stated on October 30 that it has provided an inital emergency aid package worth VND2.6 billion (US$112,000) to four flood-hit provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, and Phu Yen.
Of the aid, Quang Nam received VND300 million, in addition to 100 boxes of household utensils, 100 tools for home repair, 200 tarpaulins, and 200 boxes of P&G water filter cartridges.
Quang Ngai was also presented with VND300 million, along with 300 boxes of household utensils, 300 tools for home repair, 600 tarpaulins, and 200 boxes of P&G water filter cartridges.
Binh Dinh was provided with VND200 million, 200 boxes of household utensils, and 200 boxes of water filter cartridges, while Phu Yen was granted VND200 million, 200 boxes of household utensils, and 200 boxes of P&G water filter cartridges.
As well as providing monetary aid and necessary goods, VNRC also sent two working groups to the four affected provinces in an effort to support local residents.
Earlier, the VNRC provided emergency relief to five flood-hit central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, and Thua Thien-Hue, with a total value of roughly VND5 billion.
