Quang Ninh police prosecute wildlife animal trafficking case

The police of Ha Long city, the northern province of Quang Ninh, has decided to start legal proceedings in a criminal case of illegally transporting endangered and rare animals.

On January 7, as checking a passenger car, the police discovered five dead frozen Panthera tigis tigers, listed as the endangered and rare animal needing protection, and three Macaca leonine monkeys, 30kg of pangolin scale and 20 teeth of carnivorous animals.

They were transported by Hoang Dinh Quan, born in 1990, a resident in Tang Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district of central Nghe An province.

The police are expanding investigation on the case.
