Quang Ngai fishermen bury giant fish

A crowd of people has flocked to Binh Son district in the central province of Quang Ngai to offer incense and bury a 400-kilogram fish which is believed to bring good luck to fishermen.

The fish, 2.6m in length and 2.5 m in width, was found offshore Truong Sa seas and was towed and carcass ashore for funeral rituals.

The fish is considered sacred by Vietnamese fisherman folk. It is believed that when fishermen met big waves, the fish would appear to help them sail onshore safely.
