The Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City is designated by the VBS to organize the enshrinement and veneration of two sacred relics: Lord Buddha’s Sarira, enshrined at Thanh Tam Pagoda in Binh Chanh District, and the Heart Sarira of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc, enshrined at Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda in District 10.

These two official spiritual events are part of the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025, drawing major interest from monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers.
On the morning of May 2, a military aircraft arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, solemnly carrying Lord Buddha’s Sarira – a sacred treasure of India. The Sarira has been enshrined at Thanh Tam Pagoda, with public veneration scheduled from May 3 to May 8.
