President stresses need to care for children

President Tran Dai Quang has emphasised the importance of the care for, education and protection of children in preparing for and improving the quality of human resources serving the nation’s industrialisation, modernisation and international integration.

Investing in children is investing for the future of the nation, Quang said on August 10 at the third national festival of outstanding leaders of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation (HYPO)’s chapters.

At the meeting, children who are outstanding HYPO leaders informed the State leader of their learning achievements and organisation work results.

President Quang expressed his hope that they should continue improving their learning performance, actively participating in organisation and social activities, helping their friends.

He asked Party organitions and authorities at all levels to intensify leadership and steering over the care for, education and protection of children, and expand disseminations on child-related policies and laws as well as investment in infrastructure serving children.

Attention should be paid to those who are children of invalids, martyrs and revolution contributors, and to detecting and preventing law violations against children, he suggested.
