President Ho’s sentiment towards Russia highlighted

An exhibition and seminar themed “President Ho Chi Minh and Russia” was held in Hanoi on June 4 to mark 90 years of the late Vietnamese President’s first arrival in Russia and study of Marxism-Leninism.

Over 80 reports highlighted President Ho’s relations with Russia, and the ties between the two countries.

Delegates shed light on the late President’s motive for studying Marxism-Leninism and his determination to bring back the ideology to Vietnam, culminating in the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

They reviewed the solidarity between the former Soviet Union, now Russia, and Vietnam over the past years, which has helped the two countries build their current strategic partnership.

According to Dr. Evgeny Kobelev, First Deputy President of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association, talking about President Ho Chi Minh brings to mind a great leader - great and modest. That’s why in Vietnam, people call him Uncle, and Russian people also call him by a word with the same meaning, he added.

Various photos and souvenirs of President Ho during his stay in Russia were also on display, giving visitors a deeper understanding of his thoughts, as well as sound sentiment towards Marxism-Leninism and the nation and people of Russia.
