POHE makes higher education more job-oriented in Vietnam

VOV.VN - In 2006, the Saxion University of Applied Science in collaboration with three Dutch partners agreed to cooperate with the Vietnam Ministry of Education & Training in developing Profession Oriented Higher Education (POHE).

The program is aimed at providing labour market relevant education to improve the job prospects of graduates for the benefit of employees, employers and to best serve the national interest of the government and the nation’s citizens.

Since its inception, Saxion University recently unveiled that 14,800 students have received training through the program, comprised of 4,800 graduates and 10,000 undergraduates.

Speaking in reference to the achievement, Dr Nguyen Thi Kim Phung of the Ministry of Education and Training, said the program has achieved excellent results and it is a positive step in the right direction.

The program has been a remarkable success in making higher education more job-oriented in Vietnam and we need more programs following in its footsteps, said Miss Phung.
