Vietnam, Belgium cooperate in museum education program

(VOV) - On August 6, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum hosted a seminar on August 6 in Hanoi reviewing the results of a project to develop an art educational programme in the museum as part of a  bilateral cooperation programme between Wallonie – Bruxelles and Vietnam for the 2013-2015 period.

Phan Van Tien,  Vietnam Fine Arts Museum Director said that museum education remains one of its top priorities. Over the past three years, the museum and Belgium’s Mariemont Royal Museum has built cooperative programmes to develop museum art education at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and provide training for educators there.

The programme has been executed with the training by Belgian expert Marie-Aude Laoureux, from the Mariemont Royal Museum.

In the past three years, the Belgian expert has conducted three working visits to Vietnam and organised video conferences every month to instruct the project staff on how to explore artworks at the museum in order to build educational programmes which are suitable to each subject.

In addition, four staff members from the museum have been sent to Belgium to survey the current situation of museums, while eleven cooperative programmes have been successfully implemented so far.
