Phetchaburi marks start of whale watching season

Various sectors in Phetchaburi have jointly held an activity marking the start of the whale watching season.

Deputy Governor Kritsada Kaewsongmuang presided over the opening ceremony of Phetchaburi’s whale watching festival at Chao Samran Beach in the capital district.

Mr. Kritsada said December was an ideal time when Eden's whales can be seen in the sea at a point closest to human communities. Tourists can take a two-hour boat trip to fisherman villages to greet the rare sea mammals and seabirds.

Visitors now also have an opportunity to try a variety of seafood. Some claim that crab meat is at its most delicious in December.

Chief officer of Phetchaburi’s capital district Thanapat Na Ranong has suggested that those wishing to take a whale watching tour contact Hadchaosamran Subdistrict Municipality Office at 0-3247-8555 during office hours.
