OVs welcome Lunar New Year with song, dance

VOV.VN - A complete package of fun and frolic, song and dance, traditional and exotic foods, art performances and fine wine typify how Overseas Vietnamese (OVs) around the globe are ushering in the Year of the Monkey.

Here, they gathered in Ankara, Turkey at an event sponsored by the Vietnam Embassy.

 

In Laos they attended a banquet hosted by the Vietnam Embassy.

 

In Japan, too, they gathered at a get-together put on by the Vietnam Embassy. 

 

“The OVs community in Japan has swelled to an estimated 120,000 people,” said Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong.

 

Here in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, the Vietnam Consulate sponsored an art performance.

 

A crowd of 600 OVs in Manila attended a ball at the Century Hotel.  

 

Vietnamese students residing in Manilla performed at the event.

 

Wrapping Banh Chung (Chung cakes) in Hong Kong has become an annual tradition.
