OVs in Angola meet on New Year 2018

The Vietnamese Embassy in collaboration with the Vietnamese People Community in Angola organised a get-together in Luanda city on December 31 to celebrate New Year 2018.

Delivering New Year greetings to the overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in the host country, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong informed the OVs of the country’s standout achievements in economy-society, foreign relations and global integration in 2017.

He highlighted joint efforts made by Vietnamese and Angolan governments to bolster bilateral cooperative ties and expressed his sympathy for the OVs over the difficulties triggered by economic recession in Angola.

The ambassador thanked the OV community for their support for the homeland, and called on experts, businessmen and the OVs to continue to serve as a bridge to promote friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries.

For her part, Dao Lan Huong, standing vice chairwoman of the Vietnamese Association in Angola, laid stress on the community’s contributions to the host country and the homeland and informed the community’s action plan in 2018.

Traditional cuisine and art performances were featured at the event.
