Of the sum, Ho Chi Minh City contributed VND40 billion, while the Vietnam Maritime Corporation donated VND12 billion; Hanoi with VND10 billion; the Ministry of Public Security with VND10 billion; and the Ministry of National Defence with VND10 billion.

Addressing the ceremony, President of the VFF Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai noted that in recent days, residents across the central and south central provinces and cities have been grappling with severe and prolonged flooding. Heavy rains have caused devastating losses of life and property, particularly in Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai and Da Nang.

To date, dozens of people have been reported dead or missing; more than 52,000 homes have been submerged, 167 houses damaged, over 13,000 hectares of crops and more than 2,000 hectares of perennial trees inundated; some 30,000 heads of livestock and poultry swept away; many communes remain isolated; and key north–south transport routes have been cut off due to serious landslides.

She said the VFF called on all member organisations, from the central to grassroots levels, State agencies, businesses, officials, civil servants and workers, entrepreneurs, artists and intellectuals as well as overseas Vietnamese, to join hands in supporting flood-stricken communities. Such assistance will help affected families overcome immediate hardships, rebuild their livelihoods and return to normal life as soon as possible, Hoai said.

The VFF leader affirmed that all donations received will be distributed promptly, transparently and to the right beneficiaries, ensuring timely and practical support for those in need.

PM Chinh orders swift action to address flood damage in central Vietnam

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the Ministry of Finance to immediately disburse funds to help localities recover from severe flooding, including VND150 billion (US$5.9 million) for Hue City and VND100 billion (US$3.9 million) each for central Quang Ngai and Quang Tri provinces through an expedited process.
