The domestic terminal at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport will be upgraded next year at an estimated cost of over VND243 billion (US$10.71 million).
Work on the building would begin in June and be completed in two years, Vietnam News Agency said, citing the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, which manages 22 airports around the country.
After the upgrade, which is now awaiting the transport ministry's approval, the terminal would be able to serve around 15 million passengers a year, it said.

It will be the second expansion for the terminal since 2013 when its capacity was increased from six million to nine million.
But it has been operating well above its capacity, with an estimated 12 million passengers using it this year.
Noi Bai's international terminal, opened early this year, is capable of serving 10 million passengers.
