Over two million AstraZeneca vaccine doses arrive in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Three batches of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, consisting of a total of 2,016,460 doses, touched down in Ho Chi Minh City by air on September 1.
The shipment is part of a deal to purchase a total of 30 million vaccines signed between AstraZeneca Vietnam and the Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC), under the auspices of the Ministry of Health.
Approximately 10.1 million doses of the contract have so far been delivered to the country, according to the Ministry of Health.
To date more than 29 million vaccine doses have already arrived in Vietnam, either through contracts, global vaccine access mechanism COVAX, or foreign aid. Of the total are 19.1 million AstraZeneca vaccine doses.
As of September 1, Vietnam has administered nearly 20 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with roughly 17.3 million people receiving their fits dose and more than 2.6 million people fully vaccinated.
