Over 85,000 workers sent abroad over seven-month period
VOV.VN - As many as 85,781 Vietnamese workers, including 28,991 female workers, were sent to work abroad under contracts in the first seven months of this year, meeting 65.9% of the annual target, according to the Department of Overseas Labour Management under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Japan took the lead, receiving 39,558 workers, followed by Taiwan (China) - 32,471 workers and the Republic of Korea - 7,340 workers.
Elsewhere, other markets such as China, Singapore, Romania, and Hungary maintained their recruitment activities, opening more opportunities for Vietnamese workers.
In July 2025 alone, the deployment of Vietnamese workers abroad achieved encouraging results, with 11,090 workers leaving the country, including 3,374 female workers.
Vietnam has set a target of sending 130,000 labourers abroad under contracts this year.
More than 800,000 Vietnamese workers are currently employed in 40 countries and territories worldwide, earning stable incomes and sending significant remittances worth approximately US$5 billion per year to the homeland. In 2024 alone, more than 158,000 workers were sent abroad.
The Department of Overseas Labour Management reported that it has negotiated and signed over 60 international cooperation agreements, including 17 with Japan and 6 with the RoK, creating a legal framework to facilitate the dispatch, reception, and protection of workers in necessary cases.
Alongside maintaining traditional markets, Vietnam is expanding to European countries, focusing on new occupations with stable employment and high incomes.
