Over 700 tourists stranded on Nam Du island safely brought ashore

VOV.VN - After two days of being stranded due to bad weather and rough seas on Nam Du island, located about 75 km from Vietnam's largest island of Phu Quoc, more than 700 tourists were finally brought ashore on July 16.

This comes after all high-speed boat and ferry services from the mainland to Nam Du, one of most pristine islands in the southern region, were suspended on July 14 due to the area being impacted by a tropical depression, leaving 700 tourists stuck on the island.

During their stay the tourists received support in terms of accommodation and other services.

After weather conditions eventually became stable, high-speed boats connecting Rach Gia city to Nam Du island were permitted to operate as normal from the morning of July 16, thereby allowing all tourists to come ashore safely.
